Johnette Brooks is a 20-year African American WWI Historian, Genealogist, Research Instructor & Speaker. She is a native of Baldwin County’s Milledgeville, GA and descendant of the Historic VEAL MASTERS of EDUCATION & VEAL SIX SIBLING CAREER EDUCATORS, whose research has been nationally published. She was awarded the 2018 University of Georgia Board of Regents GHRAC LOCAL HISTORY ADVOCACY Award and in 2019 she was recognized at the National Conference of the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical National (AAHGS). She has been a panelist at the Georgia Archives. Johnette is also a Physical Tribute Consultant, Member of the National Genealogy Society and Assoc. of Professional Genealogists; 2011 Atlanta History Center Guest Lecturer, 2010 Co-Panelist-Family Tree Magazine; Guest Lecturer-Atlanta History Center, Central Georgia Genealogy Society and Jack & Jill of America. She is the founder of HOLLA at ya ANCESTORS.org.
