Film Screening: Displaced but Not Erased

“Displaced but Not Erased” uncovers the forgotten history of Beacon Hill, a once-thriving Black community in Decatur, Georgia. Built from the ground up, it was more than just a neighborhood—it was home. Through urban renewal and gentrification, its residents were displaced, and the landscape has changed, but its legacy endures.

The title speaks to the resilience of its people—while they may have been uprooted, their stories, contributions, and spirit remain. This preview offers a glimpse into my documentary, setting the stage for its full release.

The program will feature an introduction, film screening, and Q&A afterwards.
