End of Year Fundraiser: Celebrating 75 Years

 In
November 21-December 31 2022

In 1947 the DeKalb History Center was founded as an organization dedicated to sharing the history of DeKalb County. We have come a long way over 75 years and look forward to our future growth. In those 75 years, a lifetime of changes have occurred. Collectively, we have witnessed world events and conflicts, economic difficulties and expansions, human achievements and technological advancements. In that time DHC has collected and shared the wide-ranging stories of the people and places of DeKalb County, through photographs, documents and objects. Reaching our 75th anniversary does make us look back at those stories…and in turn realize the stories we overlooked.

We look to the next 75 years of the DeKalb History Center as a place for all of the stories of DeKalb County to be collected. Will you support us in looking forward? We believe everybody’s story is worth collecting and telling and here’s how you can help us with that!

Our current goal is to raise funds for a new exhibit case to be placed in our lobby.

This large case will double the amount of space we have to showcase highly focused “mini exhibits” featuring artifacts and archival materials from our collections. We will be able to share more DeKalb County history from our collections and archives.
