DeKalb Traveler: Auburn Avenue

Join fellow members of the DeKalb History Center as we spend a half day exploring Auburn Avenue.
We will start the day off with a tour of Auburn Avenue Research library. This tour will be an introductory look of the services, spaces, and resources available at AARL. Staff will be able to provide a brief introduction to the genealogy services. The library also has exhibits on display, which we will be able to explore.
Next, we will walk next door to the Southern School Book Building (c.1910), now know as the Constellations Building. We will enjoy a guided tour of this historic building and have a brief break for lunch (BYOL). After lunch, we will take a brief walking tour of Auburn Avenue, led by Helen McGaughy of Gene Kansas including a look at the Atlanta Daily World Building.
