Memorial Drive – Upcoming Exhibit
Opening July 25, 2025
What began as a thoroughfare leading from the State Capital building to the largest Confederate monument in the country has since become a diverse and bustling road teeming with life. Running from the heart of Atlanta through the interior of DeKalb County, Memorial Drive has become a central location to live, work, and conduct business.
This exhibit showcases a vibrant sampling of the people and places that make Memorial Drive the animated, multicultural community it is today. Peter Essick’s modern photography and gathered objects from local businesses present an imaginative means to view this historic corridor. This stunning visual story is also supported by the history of how and why Memorial Drive came to be.
This exhibit will be up for at least 18 months.
