The DeKalb History Center can work with students or teachers to offers tours, discussions, or classroom visits.
DHC has also worked with teachers to provide primary sources as supplemental information in the classroom.
Guided Tours for Students
Perfect for smaller groups, students will explore our Historic Courthouse and what makes it unique. Students will identify architectural elements of the building and learn why it was built. In this program students will be able to compare and contrast our courthouse to other recognizable landmarks.
Students will also explore the grounds surrounding the courthouse to learn about what makes a community-including transportation and economy. We will also explore past communities of Native Americans who lived in DeKalb County through artifacts.
Cost: $8 per student, title 1 discount available (support staff free)
Length: 1 hour
Minimum: 10 students
Max: 50 students
